Betta Fish Tanks

As with many animals, the female Betta fish are slightly different compared to males – they are often as spectacular but are normally slighter and are endowed with significantly smaller fins. They do not generally live as well with their opposites as one would anticipate except during breeding even though they can nonetheless, co-exist with each other in the same fish tank. You are also going to need to consider the size of your aquarium as the greater the number of betta fish you have the bigger the aquarium you are going to have to have. Female betta fish should be kept at no greater than four to six fish to a tank, more or less 10 gallons in size. They can also be kept with other fish but there are some other matters that should be considered when viewing to mix species. There are distinct types of fish that are not compatible, for example paradise fish with bettas. Just as with males, females will also present hostile behavior against other types of fish, though they do have a tendency to be more tolerant than males.

It can be challenging to locate female betta in the pet shops although you can nonetheless, find a number of breeders online and a number might even be local to you. They can oftentimes provide you not just with the bettas you are looking for, but it is more likely that bettas from these locations are going to be better looked after than the ones that can be found from the pet outlet. Pet shop bettas are generally going to be kept in cramped quarters, which can make betta fish females uncomfortable.
